Ya era hora de ponerme a mirar que voy a hacer el martes 14. Tiempo de ir de compras no tengo, comprar por la web seria una solucion pero con el senor cartero de mi pueblo llegaria para febrero 2013.

Asi que mejor algo hecho en casa, les dejo algunas ideas para cocineras, costureras, tejedoras, artesanas o lo que seas. Alguna te ira bien:

Este es el espiritu de Just White que hoy cumple un año gracias a Uds.

En mi viaje a España conocí a Ino y Dominique, una pareja encantadora y talentosa.

Al calor del fuego ellos me cuentan que:

"...dejaron su vida en Barcelona y se instalaron en este antiguo pajar de un pequeño pueblo del Ampurdán. Ino es estilista de decoración y periodista. Dominique es diseñador y entre los dos transformaron y decoraron el antiguo pajar con mezclas de estilos, muebles y objetos, esto que nos gusta tanto: algo viejo, algo nuevo, de mercadillo, de diseño, ideado por Dominique, repintado por Ino....Como perfección en soledad no existe, decidieron compartirlo con amigos y clientes y lo convirtieron en pequeño hotel para quienes buscan descanso...calma...tranquilidad...Y así nació

Alan empezo a pararse en su cuna hoy!...es muy gratificante. Todavia no logra estarse en pie sin ayuda pero tiene la fuerza suficiente de pararse solo.

No pude contenerme y compartir estas dos habitaciones tan bonitas ;-)

Alan started to stand up on his crib today!...is very rewarding. Still can't stay standing without help but has enough strengh to stand up by himself.

Es tan dificil dejar Uruguay, mis amigos, mi familia y lugares como este.

Pues, Belcampo esta a la entrada de Jose Ignacio, convirtiendose en el sitio perfecto para recoger las verduras, frutas y el dulce de leche antes de llegar a casa.

Well, Belcampo is at the entry of Jose Ignacio, becoming the perfect place to get your fruits, vegies and the 'dulce de leche' before going home.

O simplemente si no te apetece un picnic en la playa pasar a comer un asado o el menu del dia que no esta nada mal.

Tambien hacen bebidas y comidas para llevar. Recomiendo la limonada casera con menta, es riquisima!

Para mi 2011 ha sido fantastico. La llegada de mi Alan es lo mejor que nos ha pasado.

Comenzar este blog no es menos importante ya que pude conocerlas a Uds.....muy importante cuando te sientes solo en un pais que no es el tuyo, saber que no importa la hora basta con tocar la pantalla y entrar en este mundo donde todo es bonito.

Ya se, ya se.....estan todas a mil preparandolo todo para la nochebuena!!!
Bienvenidas al club: Yo soy una mas!!!!
Ademas de las cosas de debo hacer tambien estan las que elijo hacer, y por supuesto que son las que mas disfruto. En mi viajecito a Espana tuve el placer de conocer a las dos martas. Y que les puedo decir? Ademas de guapas, generosas, encantadoras y de darle duro a la lengua (porque no lo sabia, pero en Avila hablan rapidisimo!! Mi marido no se entero ni una!!) ya habreis visto la 'galletada' que se armo, asi que en casa ahora, ya sola y sin ayuda he preparado las primeras para regalos navidenos, a modo de practica para las del bautizo de Alan que es en enero....la verdad que estoy contenta con el resultado.
Si queres aprender, ya sabes: un delantal, palote y visitar a Pilar o a las Martas!
Nada mas!

I know, I know.....you are all crazy preparing everything for Christmas eve!!!

Welcome to the club: I am one more!!!!

As well of the things I must do there are the ones I choose to do, and therefore the ones I enjoy the most. In my trip to Spain I had the pleasure of meeting the two martas. What can I say? Apart of beautiful, generous and charming they chat loads (I didn't know, but in Avila they speak so fast!!! My husband was left behind!!) You must seen already the 'galletada' (art of cookie making) we had so now at home and without help I prepared my very first ones as Christmas gifts, as a practice too before making the ones for Alan baptisim that is in january...the truth is that I am happy with the results. If you want to learn, you know: an apron, rolling pin and a visit to Pilar or the Martas! Nothing else!

Por mis dos manos / by my two hands

Luego de casi seis meses puedo hablar un poquito de Alan y su llegada al mundo. No se asusten, no dare detalles, digamos que fue un poquito dificil. Sobretodo en un pais ajeno con lengua ajena.
Justo antes de salir del hospital conocimos a Muriele, una pediatra suiza que le dio el alta a Alan. Un encanto de persona, la primera que se preocupo en saber que idioma hablaba mientras yo me liaba con mi mal frances! Resulto que ella tambien hablaba espanol...y que ademas era dulce conmigo y sobretodo con Alan.
Asi fue que decidimos que ella seria su pediatra, ahora esta embarazada y de licencia asi que hemos empezado la busqueda de otra pediatra pero mientras tanto le agradecemos su amor y dedicacion. Y que mejor un regalo hecho con mis dos manos durante las siestas de Alan:

After almoast six month, I can finally talk a little about Alan and his arrival to this world. Don't worry, I won't give details, lets say it was a bit difficult. Specially in a foreign country with a foreign language.
Just before leaving the hospital we met Muriele, a swiss pediatrician that gave the ok for Alan's departure. A lovely person, who was the only one who cared to know which language I speak while I was struggling with my bad french! End up that she speaks spanish too....and on top she was kind and sweet with me but specially with Alan. It was then when we decided she will be his pediatrician, now she is pregnant and on holiday so we are looking for another doctor but in the midtime we want to thank her love and dedication. What can be a better gift that something done with my two hands whil Alan naps: This is the baby blanket that we gave to her.

Necesito tiempo! I need time!

Siento mucho estar ausente, pero siento mas no poder visitarles, les extraño pero estoy desbordada...
Primero esta Alan lógico que implica trabajo pero sobretodo tiempo ya que me gusta darle mucho cariño y atenderle bien ya que tengo la suerte de tenerlo todo el día conmigo a diferencia de otras mamas que solo pueden ver a sus hijos luego de una larga jornada laboral. Por Alan, por mi y por todas esas mamas, es que el se lleva todo de mi.
También se me ha sumado: obras en la casa, la canasta de ropa para planchar esta alta como la torre Eiffel, el robot de la piscina que si no lo enciendes no trabaja, papeles y mas papeles para el correo (no se olviden que los franceses aman el papel), nuestra otra mitad que viene a casa por fin la próxima semana para quedarse con nosotros el invierno y queremos recibirle con la casa a pleno, en octubre es su cumple que lo pasaremos en Paris pero hay que planificarlo (se reciben toda clase de sugerencias).....mi madre también se nos suma a fin de mes, luego el Bautismo de Alan que se me ha ocurrido hacer todo a mano (tarjetas, souvenirs, ect) !!! ( no pregunten por que?)....

En fin....tengo que elegir y quitar algo de mi mesa, lamentablemente tiene que ser dedicarme menos a Uds y a mi blog, ya retomare cuando tenga ayuda en casa pero por ahora me es imposible, estoy sola y con mi familia lejos....Alan me necesita. Les extraño, sois mi cable a tierra y espero sepais entender.

I am really sorry for being absent, even more sorry for not been able to visit you, I miss you all but I am overwhelmed!!!
First is Alan, of course, who means a lot of work but mostly he demands all my time, that I like to dedicate to him, give him all my love and attention, as I am lucky to be with him all day. There are moms that they can only see their kids after a long working journey. For Alan, for me and for those moms is that he gets everyting from me.
On top I have work on the house, the ironing basket is as tall as the eiffel tower, the pool robot doesn't work if you dont turn it on each time, paper and more paperwork to take to the post office (don't forget the french love their paper), our other half is finally coming next week to stay for the winter with us and we like to welcome him with a nice tidy house, in October is his bday so we go to Paris but this needs planning (suggestions welcome)...my mum is also coming at the end of the month, Alan Christening for what I decided to do everything handmade by me (invitation cards, thank gifts, etc)!!! (Don't ask why)

Anyway...I have to choose and take something out of my table (spanish saying), unfortunately has to be less time for you, less time to my blog, I will come back once I have some help at home but for now is impossible, I am alone and my family is far away...Alan needs her mom. I miss you, you are my cable down to earth and I hope you can understand.

Hoy quiero compartir con Uds. el primer par de zapatos de Alan. En realidad son pantuflas para dentro de la casa hechos a mano por Leninka en Israel, de lana y con suela de un cuero fino y suavecito.
Son los primeros que hace en esta talla, ya que era un modelo de adulto. Como no me convencian los modelos de ninos le pedi a ella si podia hacer estos para bebe y ella dulcemente acepto y le han gustado tanto que ahora los vende en su tienda etsy tambien.
Me parecieron perfectos para mantener sus pies calentitos cuando empieze a gatear en casa este invierno.
Estoy encantada :-) Y a Uds? Les gustan?

Today I would like to share with you Alan first pair of shoes. Well, sleepers really, handmade by Leninka in Israel, made of wool and a really soft leather sole.
They are the first ones she makes in this size, as it is in fact an adult model. I wasn't convinced with the children ones so I asked her if she could do this ones for a baby and she nicely accepted. Turned out that she really like them too so now she has them on her etsy store.
I think they are perfect to keep his feet warm while crawling at home this coming winter.
I adore them :-) And you? Do you like them?

No para mi.

Mi dormitorio tiene que invitarme a dormir pero tambien acogerme en esas largas noches de vigilia. Por eso tiene que ser romantico pero sensual, con ventana para ver el amanecer o las noches de luna llena, con cortinas para pretender que la noche continua y no es lunes todavia. Un espejo para vestirme y desvestirme, una luz tenue...velas.

La cama con repaldo para mis noches de lectura! Almohadones mulliditos! Sin tele!!! Sin cruces o virgencitas!!! (y que Dios me perdone :-)) Una mantita bien suavecita!!!

Not for me.

My bedroom has to be inviting to sleep but also has to make me feel well on those long awake nights. So it has to be romantic but sexy, with a window to watch the sunrise or those full moon nights, with curtains so I can pretend that the night continues on a monday morning. A mirror for dress and undress myself, a dim light...candles. The bed with a backrest for my reading nights! Fluffy pillows!

No TV!!! No crosses or virgens!!! (God forgive me :-0) A soft blanket!!!

Estoy de vuelta...

Ya les he contado que soy una enamorada de los materiales naturales...adoro ver la beta natural de la madera, acariciar jarrones de ceramicas hechas a mano, sentir la textura de fibras naturales como el algodon y el lino y tambien olerlas. Para mi es una fiesta para mis sentidos.
Hemos tenido uan semana gris y lluviosa. Mientras espero la llegada de mi bebe doy un paseo por la web y por suerte me topo con el fotografo Mark Eden Schooley que me trajo hoy una fiesta visual con su fotografia que incluye estos materiales que tanto adoro.

You may already know that I am in love with natural materials...I adore to look the grains in the wood , stroke handmade ceramic jars and pots, feel and smell the texture of natural fibers like cotton and linen. It is a party for my senses. We had a grey and rainy week. While I wait for my baby to arrive I get a stroll through the web and luckily I come across to Photographer Mark Eden Schooley who brought me today a visual party with his photography that include all this materials that I adore so much!!

Espero que les haya gustado tanto como a mi.

Con la Primavera oficialmente instalada y los primeros calorcitos me muero por estar en esta casa de verano en Formentera!!! Me encantan las paredes pintadas a la cal, los colores tierra con una pincelada de color y la combinacion de elementos naturales: madera, piedra, cuerdas, hierro y corcho.

With Spring oficially here and the first hot days I am dying to be in this summer house in Formentera!!! I love the white wash walls, the earthy colours with a small touch of colour and the combination of natural elements: wood, stone, ropes, iron and cork.
